Nymph Fishing the Poudre

Nymph Fishing the Poudre in Town:

Nymph Fishing the Poudre in town has been good. Got out today and fished the section of water near Watson Lake. Wind was blowing so dry fly fishing was out of the question. Nymph fishing with a double nymph rig with two split shot and an indicator made it a fun day. We got on the river around 9:30 and fished until 1:00. The trout weren’t monsters except for one fun size brown. I really get the sense that great fly fishing on the Poudre River is about 2 weeks away. We fished with all small stuff today, which is to be expected for the time of year.
