Expect an up tick in the dry fly fishing in the next couple of weeks on the Cache la Poudre River. Trout have been active on the surface. For dry fly fishing on the Cache La Poudre we have mainly been using midges. Our Guide Recommended flies for fly fishing the Cache La Poudre have been: #18 Old Town Midge and #20 All American Midge. We have been seeing a few BWO’s here and there, but the fish have not started to key in on them yet. Look for that to change soon. When that time does come we will be using a #18 BWO Cripple, #18 2nd Chance BWO and #18 J’s BWO Emerger. This is our favorite time of year to get out and do some dry fly fishing on the Cache La Poudre.
