About Liarflies

Since 2006 Liarflies™ has been providing custom trout flies, hats and apparel for local fly fisherman and fly fishing guides here on the Front Range of Northern Colorado. We are fortunate enough to be employed as fly-fishing guides for Rocky Mountain Adventures, Inc in Fort Collins, Colorado. Some of the waters that Rocky Mountain Adventures, Inc is permitted to operate guided fly fishing trips on include The Big Thompson River below Lake Estes, The Upper Colorado River, The Cache La Poudre River near Fort Collins, Colorado as well as in the Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park, Colorado. Liarflies is culmination of a lifelong passion for pursuing anything with gills with a fly rod. As fly-fishing guides we have developed our own unique and sometimes not so unique fly patterns that we like to use with our clients on our guided fly fishing trips. Often at the end of our outings our clients would ask us where they could buy the flies that they had used that day. We would kindly let them know that we tied our own flies and only had what was left in our fly boxes, and if we had a few we could spare we would insist that they take them at no cost. We would also let them know where they could purchase other high quality flies at one of the local fly shops. It was during one of these exchanges that a client called us a bunch idiots for giving away our flies. Realizing he was right Liarflies was born. Having confidence in the flies you use is key to being successful as a fly fisherman. We take great pride in the quality of our flies. Monetary success has never been the driving force for us. We are focused on doing something new with our fly-fishing apparel and custom trout flies while at the same time challenging the status-quo.
